Meeting the food & environmental challenge: sustainable intensification of food production
The sixth FFA called on European and World leaders to seriously address the imbalances in the global food and agriculture system and provide solutions to the following key challenges – Enable Africa to feed itself and enhancing innovation and the sustainable intensification of food production.
While Africa needs to sustainably increase its production through indigenous growth, coupled with more foreign investments and the genuine political will to improve the lives of African citizens, Europe has to increase its production on the available land while preserving ecosystems and biodiversity and using fewer resources by applying state-of-the art science and innovation.
