The Forum for the Future of Agriculture (ForumforAg) is the premiere meeting place in Brussels to debate sustainable agriculture and environmental challenges, and one of the leading international forums committed to help building a more resilient, sustainable, climate-smart and nature positive food and agriculture system.
Established in 2008, the Forum is where agriculture and environment meet for an open dialogue at our Annual Conference and other events throughout the year. To achieve this goal, the Forum and its partners announced a ‘Call to Action’ in March 2023 which included a series of commitments, to support the transformation of the agri-food system in Europe and beyond.
Each year, the Forum organises regional conferences and online events to discuss agriculture and the environment at a national level across Europe. On Wednesday, November 27, 2024 we co-organised our latest regional event with “Polska Federacja Rolna” at the Centrum Prasowe Foksal, Warsaw, Poland. We focused on, among others, on the reform of the CAP with the soon to be announced vision for agriculture to be presented by the new College, and of climate change and food security as one of the priorities of the forthcoming Polish presidency; as well as on importance of soil and the place of innovation to deliver these targets.
The Forum for the Future of Agriculture is thrilled to welcome NABU (The Nature & Biodiversity Conservation Union) as our newest Strategic Partner. Founded in 1899, NABU is Germany’s oldest and largest environmental association with more than 900,000 members and 70,000 active volunteers. NABU works tirelessly to protect species, habitats and climate, at home and worldwide and their projects around the globe empower strong local partners to take action for nature conservation and against the climate and biodiversity crises.
Just over a year ago, the Forum launched its Call to Action – a series of seven commitments designed to help contribute to a more resilient, sustainable, nature positive and climate smart food and agriculture system. The Forum for the Future of Agriculture has now launched the first annual report which sets out the work we have undertaken and progress made, along with illustrations of the scalable initiatives that many of our partners are doing, towards these Call to Action commitments.

The Forum for the Future of Agriculture have announced the establishment of a new Advisory Council to support it in the achievement of its mission to help build a more resilient, sustainable, climate smart and nature positive food and agriculture system.
We regularly release new episodes of ForumforAg Food Systems podcast where we interview politicians, civil society representatives, thought leaders, scientists, activists, farmers, business leaders and many others with ideas and actions on how we can deliver a safe, plentiful, and above all sustainable food system that works for everyone.

The European Landowners’ Organization and Syngenta came together in 2008 to create a new, open and inclusive place in Europe where all stakeholders interested in contributing to a more sustainable agriculture system could come together to debate and share knowledge and expertise on how this could be achieved. They remain committed to that goal and have now invited other organisations to join and help take forward the Forum for the Future of Agriculture on the next phase of its journey.
Our strategic partners support the mission of the forum to contribute to the development of a more sustainable food and agriculture system. In doing so, they work together with our founding partners under the guidance of the chairman to enable the strategic development of the Forum for the Future of Agriculture and help to shape its annual work program.
The ForumforAg partners also act as a sounding board and provide counsel on our thought leadership activities and positions. The partners also exchange knowledge and expertise on what works on the ground, as well as constructively challenging each other, as well as other stakeholders in their community, to help create a more sustainable food system.
